Bryant, AR — Bryant Youth Association (BYA) is proud to announce the launch of BYA Flight Academy, held at the Saline County Airport, an innovative summer enrichment program designed to introduce local youth to the exciting world of aviation. For enrolled students who have completed 5th grade, this 8-week academy offers a launchpad into aviation and the next generation SKY CHAMPS. This program is included at no additional cost.
BYA Flight Academy offers hands-on exposure to basic aeronautics and pilot skills, providing students with a well-rounded introduction to aviation—from cockpit fundamentals to aircraft maintenance. The program blends education, exploration, and mentorship to inspire curiosity and open doors to future career pathways. The program culminates in a memorable graduation experience. With parent or guardian permission, students will have the unique opportunity to take flight with a licensed, experienced FAA instrument-rated pilot, offering a firsthand look at aviation in action.
“This is a mind-blowing opportunity for kids, ” said Justin Tackett, pilot and CEO of DNT Media, our Flight Academy partner. “Many adults go their entire lives without ever seeing the world from the cockpit. Giving students the chance to learn how a plane flies—and then actually experience flight—this can completely change how they see their future. Programs like this spark confidence, curiosity, and big dreams.”
“BYA Flight Academy is about more than learning to fly—it’s about helping kids see what’s possible, ” said Amanda Herman, BYA Director. “This program is only available through Bryant Youth Association and we are beyond excited to offer it.”
BYA Flight Academy reflects Bryant Youth Association’s continued commitment to providing innovative programs that empower youth, build character, and inspire future leaders.
Enrollment for Summer Fun begins March 1st @ BryantYouth.org.
